A figure of speech is a departure from the ordinary form of expression or the ordinary course of idea in order to have greater impact on the audience. This impact is created by arranging words in a poetic or imagery manner. That is, here we use language skills to suggest a visual picture or create an idea with a clearer picture to the audience.
